Mebetoys Model #A-54, Fiat 127

The Fiat 127 was produced between 1971 and 1983 and was the successor to the Fiat 850 (modeled by Mebetoys as Model #A-1). It won the European Car of the Year award in 1972. It was a 3-door "hatchback" and used a 903cc overhead valve engine that was common to many Fiats of the day. This Mebetoys series model appeared in 1972. It first appeared in the 1972 Mebetoys catalog and the 1972 Mattel Italian Dealer's Catalog as a Mebetoys Series Europa model. Although a popular model in Europe it was never issued as a Hot Wheels Gran Toros series model nor packaged under the Gran Toros name.
